Al-Kut Technical Institute is one of the formations of  Middle Technical University that established in 1980.It considered  of the old formations of the Higher Education in the province established by Liz Finland company ,and the execution was between 1980 and 1984.At first ,it was agricultural Institute, and in 1988 changed to Technical Institute with Technological and administrative specializations and in 1989 medical specializations were added and it became with three specializations.                                                                                            

We seek actively based on the available capabilities to provide a good University environment to assure good circumstances for the students because they need classes, labs ,clubs, garden and good climate. We continuing the process of cultivation and preparing the gardens of the Institute, and modernized a grove for olive with germination rate more than 9%, and we modernized another grove for the strange trees for Iraqi environments such as Tropical Moringa, lemon calptus and Sidr tree.      

Dean Assistant office for Scientific Issues :

The activities of the Institute for the scientific side about the research plan for the lecturers, 86 research were completed out of 92 research registered within the plan of the academic year 2016-2017,and the rate of completion is %93,4. Training courses execution, 14 training courses were executed in different specializations such as the medical, engineering, administrative and in computers. About seminars,22 seminar were executed during the previous academic year 2016-2017.                   

Dean Assistant office for students issues:

-Dean Assistant office for the students issues is related with students issues section responsible for the following issues:

1-Receiving the new students ,register and distribute them into the scientific departments based on their selections and averages.

2-Auditing the documents and reveal the counterfeiters from the accepted students, the transferred students and the students with adjusted nomination  in addition to the Evening study students.                                

3-Issuing the orders of the failed students, and those who failed because of absence.

4-Issuing the administrative orders to the failed students in each academic year.

5-Issuing the administrative orders for the students that have the right to participate in the final exams.

6-Reading the instructions by the students through announcement boards in different locations inside the Institute.

7-Issuing certifications ,documents and graduation certificates in Arabic and English language.

Also, Dean Assistant office for students issues is related with the dormitories of the students .In our Institute we have to complexes ,the first one is Al-Fayhaa complex for students includes 60 room, and the second one is Al-Iman includes 40 room. The purpose of that is to reside the students from other provinces .Theses dormitories have the necessary requirements for living and internet services in addition of sport activities. The Gym opens its doors after the official time for the dormitory’s students to practice their different sport activities.

Dean Assistant office for Administrative and Finance Issues

The Dean Assistant office of administrative and finance issues are related to many sections such as the administrative section, Finance section with its all units that includes: Human Resources, Documentation unit, Stuff and Retirement Unit, machines unit and agriculture unit. Finally, the finance units is consisted of records unit, salaries unit, treasury unit, clearance unit ,final balance unit and storage unit.   

Diseases Analysis department

It is one of the medical specialties inside the Institute that established in 1986.Its duty to prepare the technical health cadres with highly experience and qualified for work in the analytical labs, hospitals and specialty clinics ,and dealing with modern programmed test devices with good results. The qualified graduated student has the right to work in Diseases analysis field. It includes morning and evening studies and includes the following labs: Tissues and Immunity –Basics of Nursing ,transferring blood and lab devices- slides, viruses and fungus -clinical chemistry- Bacteriology and Parasites-General chemistry- hematology –Lab techniques and quality control. Animal’s house was constructed to the purpose of scientific research for the higher studies students.              

 Health society department

It is one of the medical specialties in the Institute .It was established in 1991,preparing the technical healthy stuff qualified for work in the medical institutes in the field of monitoring the service facilities in society such as restaurants, hospitals, hotels, cafes ,monitoring health, inspection and first aids. The health of society is considered the foundation to build an environment far from diseases causes, and then promotion to the healthy matters of  the society. It has morning and evening studies ,and includes the following labs: Microbiology –Anatomy –Nursing and first aids- medicines- Abdomen and surgical medicine- Biochemistry and Phylogenetics.                                                

Survey Techniques Department

It is one of the technological specialties in the Institute established in 1988-1989.It prepares the graduates to work in the private sector and public sector. It characterized in using level devices, theodolite and Total station. The department has an authorization from TOBKON a Japanese company for making the criteria and maintenance for all survey devices ,and it has evening and morning studies .The department includes: Surveying lands –Photographic survey –Computer.                       

Electrical Techniques department /Power branch:

It is one of the technological specialties in the Institute established in 1995.It prepares a qualified graduates to work at generating power stations,  power transfer system and power distribution with sufficient experience and  skill in electrical foundations .The graduate is qualified to build the feeding panels and power control, and execute the works of maintenance and warranty for most of electrical systems ,in addition to the skill of coiling motors and electrical generators .It has evening and morning studies ,that includes the following labs :Electronic –Electrical Industrial foundation –Electrical circles  –Electrical networks-Electrical coefficients and Electrical machines.                                                          

Machines and Instruments department/Cars branch:

It is one of the technological specialties in the Institute established in 1986.It prepares the qualified  graduates with highly specialization and skills in detecting the defects and damages in the cars, and observing the programmed modern systems that adopted by the manufactured companies of the cars .It includes the following labs: Internal combustion engines –Electricity of cars- Maintenance –Bodies of the cars.                  

Water Resources Technologies department/Irrigation and Drainage

It is one of the technological specialties in the Institute established in 1988.It prepares the qualified graduate to the departments of Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture to work in Irrigation and drainage projects, dams, Water Resources projects, constructing and use modern irrigation systems, and determining the best technology and relying on new ways of advanced drainage. It includes the following labs: Modern Irrigation Techniques-Lands survey – construction materials- Hydraulic – Water Science.                                                                         

Mechanical Techniques department/Production branch

It is one of the technological specialties in the Institute established in 1986.It prepares a qualified graduate to work in mechanical field that includes: lathing ,Milling ,Plumbing ,smoothing, welding ,filings and using the programmed machines with highly technology. The department includes: Manufacturing processes –Metals –Mechanic.     

Accounting department

It is one of the administrative specialties in the Institute established in 1987.It prepares the qualified stuff to work in the field of financial unites to organize the records based on the genera budget according to the unified accounting system and the accounting system of  companies and the financial banks systems .The department includes all computers systems practically. It includes morning and evening studies.                    

Materials management department

It is one of the administrative specialties in the Institute established in 1986.It prepares the qualified graduate to work in warehouse specialization management at the official Institutes, private sector, using programmed warehousing techniques ,and concerning the privacy of each materials to avoid incorrect warehousing conditions. Also, relying on specialized warehousing works. This department includes the following labs: Warehouse operations-Purchase-Warehousing techniques.               

Dean /Workshops

The workshops has an active attendance in the Institute by manufacturing most of the necessary needs of the Institute  specially in the dormitory. They manufacture double iron beds ,cabins, studying desks .All the desks were replaced for students with fixed desks due to the high quality with no need for maintenance, and manufacturing the laboratory stools due to the lack of good quality in the markets .All chairs and stools were manufactured in our workshops. Also, the desks of lecturers and shelves of the central library were manufactured at the Institute workshops for the computer system for the benefit of wasit University.                                  

Dean /Openness to the society

 In addition to all that, the Institute is open to the province by presenting consultations and services to the province because the institute basically was an Agricultural Institute with the availability of 1000 acres for cultivation. All that, reflects on the activity of the Institute in agricultural issues. Poultry ,fish and honey production were invested in addition to the plastic houses and planting okra, cucumbers  and strawberry. Also, there are many activities to treat the Bee sting by opening the specialized clinics, and it gained a wide reputation in the province.                            

Dean/Infrastructures

1-The technical Institute was established by ready construction ,and this kind of construction has a specific expired time. All the complexes of the Institute need maintenance continually ,and all that will affect the budget of the Institute and its administration. The maintenance continued to keep the buildings in safe way to support its performance for the academic process at the Institute.                                                                                

The revenues of the Institute came from the evening studies and the construction and electrical  labs, in addition to the productive activities that participated in supporting the revenues of the Institute and reflected positively on the infrastructure of the Institute.                                            

2-The neighborhood at the Institute includes 150 residence unit ,that includes 1200 resident at the current time providing them with water  ,sewage and electricity services because the institute is out of  Al-Kut municipality drawings. All the services and infrastructures and services are for the Institute ,and we still working hard to keep doing maintenance for that neighborhood .
